San Antonio TX

We woke up this morning in Las Crucis NM and had breakfast when we reached El Paso.  We were amazed at the size of El Paso; it took an hour to go through it!   Most of that time we were traveling right beside the border with Mexico.

The terrain is quite interesting.   We were expecting something along the lines of North and South Dakota (in other words, fairly bleak) but in fact,  there are interesting hills and rock formations as well as various shades of green foliage.   A fair number of trees along with cows, horses, sheep and pronghorns.

All day we've been following the schedule and we're exactly 6 hours off but FINALLY discovered that the extra six hours are in San Antonio.  So we will spend the night at the station here then leave for Austin tomorrow morning at 7 to arrive at the regularly scheduled time.

One of many pecan orchards around El Paso
From back of train coming into El Paso
Met by cops at this stop who took a gentleman of the train.   We don't know why.
Just liked this bridge close to Del Rio
